The waistcoat has a short stand collar that splits open at the front over a V-shaped inner panel, cap shoulders with no sleeve, princess seams that shape the body and a wrap front fastened at the waist by two ornamental gold-tone knot buttons, with a hem cut into three panels that part slightly like a short peplum. The trousers sit high on a flat waistband with belt loops, close at the front with a single matching gold-tone button and drop in a wide, straight line with a pressed crease. Wear the pair together, or put the waistcoat over a white shirt and the trousers with a fitted fine-gauge jumper.
